Presentation Instructions
The 2025 MIGARS conference features exclusively onsite presentations, offered in either oral or poster formats. Registered participants preparing a presentation for the conference are invited to check complete instructions here.
Oral Presentations
-
In-Person Requirement: Pre-recorded or remote virtual presentations are not permitted. The presenter must be physically present and prepared to answer questions related to the paper and its associated research.
-
Duration: Each oral presentation is scheduled 15 minutes in total (plan for a 10-12 minutes presentation with a short Q&A discussion).
-
Format: Deliver your slideshow in PowerPoint (file extension .pptx) or PDF (file extension .pdf). Use a widescreen 16:9 screen format. To ensure compatibility and readability, prefer standard fonts (e.g., Arial, Helvetica, etc.) widely supported and easy to read on all systems.
-
Content and Font: Keep slides simple, clear, and easy to read. Limit to 6 points per slide, and 6-12 spoken sentences per slide. Use a font size of at least 20 pt to ensure readability.
-
Presentation Template: There is no mandatory template for presentations. Authors are free to use their institutional or custom designs. However, to support a more consistent visual style, an optional title slide template (PowerPoint only) is provided, which can be adapted as desired.
*The title slide template may be updated closer to the conference date (eg., for changes in the logos band). If you plan to use it, please ensure you have the latest version before the conference.
- On the Day of Presentation: Submit your presentation file to the assigned room or contact person as indicated. Arrive at the presentation room 15–20 minutes early to meet the session chair and test your slideshow. Movies or animation heavy slides should be tested to ensure they work as expected on the room’s equipment.
Poster Presentations
General Guidelines
-
Dimensions: Recommended format is A0, portrait (vertical) orientation (width x height / 841 × 1189 mm / 33.1 × 46.8 inches). The poster is not required to fill this entire space, but it cannot be any larger than the allocated size. No additional media support or standing desks are provided.
-
Printing: Please ensure you bring a printed copy of your poster. The conference venue does not provide printing services. Some printing facilities are located close to, but outside, the university campus (email for recommendations). This alternative is recommended only for participants arriving at least one day in advance. Note that all logistics — including communication with the print shop, poster collection, and payment — must be arranged individually.
-
Session Time: Authors must be present at their posters during their assigned time slots. To encourage further interaction and discussion, you are welcome to leave a note on the board sharing any additional times you will be available at your panel (e.g., during session breaks). Unattended posters will be considered as no-show.
Design Guidelines
-
Official Template: There is no mandatory template for posters. Authors are welcome to use their institutional or custom layouts.
-
Title and Author Information: Place the title at the top of the poster in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, with a height of at least 25 mm (≈72 pt) or a minimum of 48 pt font. Below the title, include author names and affiliations in a slightly smaller size (e.g., 40 pt). For section headings within the poster, avoid using all caps, use instead Title Case or bold font for emphasis.
-
Readability and Font: Posters should be easily readable from 1.5 to 2 meters (5–7 feet). Organize content in a clear visual flow: left to right and top to bottom. Consider preferably sans-serif fonts (e.g., Helvetica, Computer Modern Sans, Arial) for better clarity at a distance. Main text should be at least 28 pt or 9 mm high. Emphasize key points using boldface, not all caps or underlining.
-
Content Presentation: Before designing your poster, plan your story - summarize key points rather than replicating your paper. Highlight key findings clearly; structure content in logical sections (e.g., Introduction, Method, Results, Conclusion). Ensure your poster is self-explanatory, so viewers can understand it without constant narration. Prepare also a brief 5-minute summary to present periodically to interested viewers.
-
Graphics: Keep text blocks under 10 lines. Use visual elements (e.g., figures, diagrams, photos, cartoons) to convey information and increase visual appeal. Enhance clarity and flow by using arrows, numbering, or color to guide the viewer through the poster. Ensure all visuals have captions, legends and axis labels. Leave sufficient white space around text and figures to avoid overcrowding.
-
Final Checks: Proofread your poster for spelling, grammar, and clarity. Make sure all contact information, references, and acknowledgments are included and formatted in appropriate font sizes. Consider adding a QR code linking to the PDF version of your poster for easy digital access.
Other Guidelines
Should a last-minute schedule change make it impossible for anyone to attend and present your work, please contact the Organizing Committee (EasyChair email address). Kindly note that registration fees are non-refundable.
